Who runs the site

asbestos.ie is published by S5 Ltd, registered at 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU. S5 Ltd is not an asbestos surveyor, an asbestos removal contractor, an industry body, or a regulator. Nothing on this site is provided by a member of the regulated asbestos-removal trade.

This site is information, not professional advice

asbestos.ie is an information resource. It is not a substitute for a competent asbestos survey, professional medical advice, legal advice, or formal HSA guidance.

• We do not identify asbestos. The only way to confirm whether a material contains asbestos is laboratory analysis of a sample taken by a competent surveyor.
• We do not provide medical advice. For health questions, see a GP. For occupational exposure incidents, contact the HSA.
• We do not provide legal advice. For questions about liability, employment exposure, or compensation, consult a solicitor.

Accuracy of information

We make reasonable efforts to keep information on asbestos.ie current, accurate and properly sourced. Asbestos regulations have changed substantially in 2025 (S.I. No. 632/2025), and practice continues to evolve. The canonical sources — the HSA, the EPA, the Irish Statute Book, and Citizens Information — take precedence over anything on this site if there is a conflict.

We do not warrant that the site is free of errors, that the information is complete, or that it is suitable for any particular purpose.

The contractor matching service

When you submit an enquiry through the contact form, we pass your details to a contractor that, at the time of matching, holds a valid HSA permit for the type of work involved (or can obtain one). This is a referral relationship: we do not employ contractors, do not control how they price or carry out work, and do not guarantee any particular outcome.

The contract for any survey, removal or other service is between you and the contractor — not with asbestos.ie. We are not a party to that contract. Quotes, schedules, scope and quality are matters for direct agreement between you and the contractor.

The matching service is free to you. We may receive a referral fee from the contractor on jobs that proceed.

User-submitted content

Where you submit content to us through the contact form or by email, you confirm that you have the right to do so, and grant us permission to use the content for the purpose of responding to your enquiry and (where applicable) passing it to a matched contractor. We will not publish your content publicly without your consent.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, S5 Ltd, its directors, employees and agents are not liable for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with use of the site, including (without limitation) indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any loss arising from reliance on information published on the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any dispute arising in connection with the site or these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
